Navigating the MonsterOps interface
Navigating the MonsterOps interface
MonsterOps's interface is split into two persistent areas — a left sidebar for navigation and a top bar for global actions. This article maps both so you know where to find every major control.
The left sidebar
The left sidebar is your primary navigation. Reading top to bottom, it contains:
Organization selector
At the very top, your current Organization is shown alongside its name and plan tier. Clicking the selector opens a dropdown that lets you switch between any Organizations you belong to, and includes a + Create organization option for starting a new one. See Creating a new Organization for the full flow.
Get Started
The Get Started tab appears just below the Organization selector and shows your current setup progress as a percentage — for example, Get Started (38%). See Using the Get Started tab for the full walkthrough.
Organization
Expands to reveal the three Organization-level sections:
- Core Values
- Org Chart
- Objectives
The Organization tab itself is also clickable — selecting it opens the Organization Dashboard.
Views
Currently contains:
- Calendar
Teams
Lists every team you have access to in the Organization. Each team expands to reveal its tabs:
- News
- Rocks
- KPIs
- To-dos
- Issues
- Meetings (Agendas are contained inside the Meetings page alongside Live Meetings and Past Meetings)
Below the list of teams is a New team button for creating additional teams.
User and account controls
At the very bottom of the sidebar:
- Your user profile (avatar, name, email)
- A control for opening user settings, switching language, and signing out
See Managing your user account for details.
The top bar
The top bar runs across the top of every page and contains global controls. Reading left to right:
Hide sidebar
Collapses the left sidebar to give the main content area more space. Click again to bring it back.
Current directory
A breadcrumb trail showing where you are in the product — for example, MonsterOps > Dashboard or Leadership > Rocks. Use it to confirm where you are at a glance, or to jump back up the hierarchy.
Open MonsterAI Agent
Opens the MonsterAI assistant from any page. This is the same MonsterAI that appears in the "Ask anything about your organization" box on the Organization Dashboard — the top-bar button just makes it accessible anywhere. See Getting help with MonsterAI for what you can ask.
Create item
A + button that opens the create dialog for any item type:
- News
- Rock
- KPI
- To-do
- Issue
This is the menu equivalent of the keyboard shortcuts (N, R, K, T, I), and works from any page in the product.
Language
A language switcher with the following options, each shown in its own script:
- English
- Español
- Français
- Deutsch
- Português
- 日本語 (Japanese)
Changing the language applies across the entire interface.
Toggle dark mode
A theme toggle that switches between light and dark mode.
Tips for finding things
- If you're not sure where you are, check the breadcrumb in the top bar. It always shows your current location.
- If you're looking for an action that creates something, try the + button in the top bar — it covers every standard item type.
- If you're switching contexts (e.g., between Organizations or teams), use the Organization selector or the team list in the sidebar rather than navigating away from your current page.
- If you need MonsterAI, the agent in the top right is always available, no matter which tab you're on.
Things to keep in mind
- The left sidebar lists only teams you have access to. Hidden or inaccessible teams won't appear, even if they exist in the Organization.
- The top-bar Create item button and the single-key shortcuts (N, R, K, T, I) open the same create dialogs — use whichever is more convenient.
- The Organization tab in the sidebar and the Organization Dashboard are the same page — clicking the tab opens the dashboard.
- The language switcher affects only the interface, not the content of your items.
